Past District Governor Stuart Palmer will be talking about the water and sanitation project in Makhanda-Grahamstown, South Africa. Their schools have shut down when the municipality turns off water for 3-6 days at a time due to their severe drought and empty reservoirs. The project entails installing water storage tanks and pumping new well ground water through the schools (about 20 schools total) to allow students access to functioning toilets. There are thousands of students who will benefit from this effort.
